Motivated by my mom, started reading comics in a local library since primary school. It attracted me by its thrilling content and sometimes amazed me with a lesson/or a quote that stroke my thinking.
I always prefer story-telling and short story books, although the style of story changed with time.
2010:
- Life of Pi (a psy and fiction on how we interpret the truth)
- Each family has its own secrets.
- If minds had toes, Lucy Eyre.
- The Voice
- Tuesdays with Morrie
- Have a Little Faith . (A well written life story. It is one man’s journey, but it is everyone’s story.)
2009:
- Early mapping of Southeast Asia (a story-telling book about tribes as man-eaters, unrest and riot in cultures, religions)
- No man's land (Chốn Vắng), Dương Thu Hương. A totally bias, narrow-viewed description about Vietcong from the view of a middle-class woman: pervert and dysfunction-ed.
2008 (NUS):
- The old man and the sea, E. Hemingway
- Bay qua cõi chết, Nguyễn Khắc Phục
- Chinese Society in the eighteenth century
2006:
- Hills Like White Elephants, E. Hemingway
- Rừng Nauy
- Thành phố không mưa (Thiết Ngưng), a book about the social life of public servants in the early communist era in general, and those in early PR of China in particular.
2005:
- Sans Famille/Không gia đình
Doraemon, Conan were my favorites during my childhood.
